1905 Cornerstone Historic Home in Chevy Chase Village
In the heart of Chevy Chase Village, this 1905 cornerstone residence has been thoughtfully reimagined to honor its storied past while embracing the needs of contemporary living. Our firm had the privilege of collaborating with an exceptional team — Pyramid Builders and Thomson & Cooke Architects — to bring new life to this 7,000-square-foot home, blending timeless architectural charm with modern refinement. Every space within the residence was carefully redesigned to improve flow and functionality for a young, active family, while maintaining a sense of quiet elegance. A newly added sunroom, lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, floods the interiors with natural light and creates a seamless connection to the outdoors. Adjacent to it, a bespoke breakfast nook with a custom banquette offers an inviting setting for daily gatherings. The homeowner especially loves his custom, white oak–paneled home office, conceived as a balance of grace and purpose — refined, yet deeply livable. Throughout the home’s seven bedrooms and eight baths, exquisite detailing and craftsmanship are evident in every molding, millwork, and finish. The renovation also extended the property’s classic wraparound porch, preserving its historic character while subtly enhancing its proportions and presence. The result is a luxurious yet enduring retreat — a home that stands as a testament to both its early 20th-century heritage and its 21st-century vitality. This was truly a treat for our firm to work with talented builders and architects and make our client’s dreams come true.
